Description
The Challange: Design a dress to be worn in a championship Salsa dance competition. It must be lively, and sexy but not too sexy. The inspiration for this dress is from mideval eve
Don't forget to utilize hair and accessories! Be original and creative
Comments: I hope I interpreted the theme correctly???
Inspiration: I took inspiration from Shakesphere's A Midsummer Night's Dream, King Arthur's Camelot, Knights, and the Laday of the Lake
The Outfit: This outfit consists of two parts the Top and the Bottom.
Top- the top consists of a layer to look like a variation of an armor breast-plate beneath that is a single shouldered top made of a softer more flowing fabric in a cooler lavander tone. The sleeve is an airy open cut sleeve. On the opposite side there's a fitted detatched arm "sleeve" (would you still call it a sleeve or is it now considered an arm warmer?)
Bottom: An Asymetrical skirt raised higher at one side. Set over the skirt is a light chain mail waist wrap. It's light enough for easy movement yet it drapes to conform to her body. It's fastened with a pink waterlily closure
Accessories: Hair pieces (3), Necklace, Arm-cuff, Wrist Cuff, Shoes,
Hair pieces- in keeping with the Lady of the lake theme, there are water lily inspired pieces. (piece 1) the pink water lily, a silver piece with a rosy pink glass enamaling (piece 2) another watter lily inpired piece with an open basket weave in the lily's petals it's leaves are enamaled with a watery green tone. (piece 3) more decorative things for the lower part of her hair do.
Necklace- asymetrical and ... well I'm really not sure how to describe it other than asymetrical but there's a big pink round stone in the center front.
Armcuff- more silver, wound around in a vine like fashion
wrist cuff- fun with silver
Shoes- to tie in with the whole armor and silver concept ankle ties also vine like in appearance.
